Month by month
The quietest month of the year for international visitors, green, warm, showery, and remarkably good value if your plans bend around afternoon rain.
The short answer
June settles into the wet-season rhythm without the extremes of September: around 144 mm in Siem Reap, cooler highs near 32°C, and downpours that mostly keep office hours in the late afternoon. The landscape is fully green and waterfalls start to earn their names.
Arrival data makes June the single quietest month for foreign visitors. That means real negotiating power on rooms, empty temple courtyards after 3pm rain clears the day-trippers, and a Cambodia that feels like it belongs to the people who live there.
The numbers
Ten-year averages, not brochure promises: computed from the same ERA5 climate dataset that powers our weather tool.

Our picks
The famous circuits at their calmest: go mid-afternoon after a shower and you may share Ta Prohm with a handful of people.
Siem Reap guideThe countryside is at its most photogenic, flooded paddies, working buffalo, bamboo-train greenery.
Battambang guideLow season is a good restaurant month: easy tables at places that are booked out in January.

Good to know
Not if you match plans to the pattern. Expect a rainy hour most afternoons, green landscapes and the emptiest sights of the year: June has the fewest international arrivals of any month.
It is the start of the rough-sea stretch: Koh Rong averages 321 mm and rough crossings happen. Better to keep beach time for November–April.
Light quick-dry clothes, a compact rain layer, sandals that survive puddles, and a dry bag for phone and passport. Umbrellas are less useful than ponchos on tuk-tuks.
