Why Visit
Wat Bo, also known as Wat Raja Bo, is an active monastery east of the Siem Reap River. Its older sanctuary is known for murals depicting the Reamker, the Khmer version of the Ramayana. It offers a view of living religious traditions alongside the ancient monuments outside the city.
Access to individual buildings may depend on religious activities and conservation work. Dress modestly, remove shoes where indicated and ask before photographing worshippers. Do not assume that the historic hall is always open. A visit combines naturally with a walk around the Wat Bo neighbourhood and a pause at a nearby café.
