Why Visit

The National Museum of Cambodia is a useful companion to a visit to Angkor: its collections put Khmer sculpture and religious imagery in context. In Phnom Penh, the museum sits beside the Royal Palace, with a visitor entrance at Streets 13 and 178. Its courtyard also offers a quieter pause between galleries.

Photography is allowed in the exterior spaces and courtyard, but not inside the galleries. Guided visits can be arranged at the entrance. Consider pairing the museum with the palace and a riverside walk, leaving time to look closely rather than rushing between stops. Check the museum's visitor information for admission and opening arrangements.
